Klara Dixon

I came to estate planning from twenty years in financial services, and I have spent nearly ten years doing nothing else: wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, and the practical work of looking after an estate when someone has died. More than a thousand families have sat across a table from me. I still find it the most worthwhile work I know.

I am a STEP Associate — the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners — and I hold the STEP Advanced Certificates in the Administration of Estates and in the Administration of Trusts. I have sat the Advanced Certificate in Taxation of Trusts and Estates and am working towards the STEP Diploma, expected in 2027. Before that I qualified in financial planning, mortgages and equity release, which is why tax and the family finances are never an afterthought in my planning.

I am not a solicitor, and I will always tell you when you need one. I am not an accountant or a tax adviser either, and the same applies. What I am is the person who sits with you, understands the whole picture, drafts the documents, and makes sure the right professionals are brought in at the right moment — and not before you need them.

Where the name comes from

Lev is Czech for lion — I am Czech — and the lion has been on the wall of every office I have had. It is not a mascot. The Lion is Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5), and this practice is his before it is mine. The Bible is the Book of Law I go back to first; the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus called the Counsellor (John 14:26), is the counsel I take before any other. Trusts, family, inheritance and the last will and testament are all there in that Book of Law, and the law of England and Wales was shaped by it: for centuries wills were proved in the Church's courts, and the trust itself grew up in a court of conscience. A trust, a family, a business, a will — anything you build for other people — only stands if its foundation is right. Build your house on the rock, not on the sand, and the rest holds (Matthew 7:24–27). None of that changes the advice you get: the law I practise is the law of England and Wales, and my duty in every file is to you. That is what I try to do for every client, and it is why I study applied theology alongside the law.

How I work

Three things I hold myself to:

Andrew Dixon

Andrew looks after the practice behind the scenes: administration, systems and IT. A retired property developer and IT consultant, he built the filing systems that now hold twenty years of client records, and he is the reason the paperwork is where it should be when you need it. He also supports me constantly, challenges me, and checks that everything is as it should be. He is the head of the house. The dogs have not been told.

Us

We live on Anglesey with two large dogs who feature in more of our photographs than they should. We go technical scuba diving when we can get away; Klara and the children ski whenever there is snow, and Andrew minds the dogs; and when none of that is possible we walk the coast path or climb Yr Wyddfa. Our three children are at the stage where two are reading law and one is doing A-level accounting, so dinner-table conversation is mostly budgets, trusts and tax, whether anyone wants it or not.

Klara is also founder and chair of trustees of a small Christian charity.

What clients say

"Could not be happier with the service received, from first consultation through to completion." — Kevin, October 2024

"It was very good. You did very well." — Margaret, October 2024

Clients completed a written feedback survey after every matter; the scores were consistently 4 and 5 out of 5.
